The 2017 Belgian Classic has been run & won. A solid field pinned on numbers to try their luck in obtaining the winners jersey kindly donated by Bairnsdalecc’s own Belgian, Marc Bouten.
This year it was the limited riders made up of Wellingtoncc’s Aden Carubia 1st & Bairnsdalecc’s own Leigh Thompson 2nd & Jacinta Preston 3rd. They worked well together for the entire race which seen them stay away just long enough for Aden to sprint past Leigh for the prestigious winners jersey. A strong Eric Sjerp (8 Minutes) couldn’t quite hold off the one we’ve dubbed “swiss moto” Kai Rothlisberger (18 minutes) for 4th in a what was a cracking ride scooping up almost the entire
field in 1:01:18.
